Obama's International Pull: Nigerian Oil Truce Appeal (w/ Poll)

Short diary on the Nigerian oil situation.  Found this interesting tidbit.

"The MEND command is seriously considering a temporary ceasefire appeal by Senator Barack Obama. Obama is someone we respect and hold in high esteem," the militant group said in an e-mailed statement.

I really wish Barack would have gone on that rumored international tour following Texas and Ohio...just to illustrate the true power of an Obama presidency vis-a-vis the rest of the world.  That is just a powerful visual that cannot be relayed via town halls, diners or debates.

Now I'm just waiting for that loony John McCain to proclaim that every conceivable rebel/"terrorist" group has made it clear who they want to become President.

It's pretty simple America, do you want to improve your standing in the world or just "obliterate" whatever remaining goodwill there is.
